The Lab

An independent technology laboratory.

BigSteve Labs operates at the edge of AI agents, automation, reliability, and emerging systems. The Lab builds, tests, evaluates, and documents work that has to function outside a slide deck.

Conceptual imagery for atmosphere. Not a BigSteve Labs-owned facility or equipment.

Mandate

Build. Test. Publish the limit.

The Lab builds practical AI systems, tests them against real failure, and publishes what was learned — including what did not work.

Conceptual imagery — design atmosphere, not a Lab facility.

Mandate

Build practical AI systems. Test them against real failure. Publish what was learned — including limits.

Posture

Controlled access. Technical authority. No invented clients, staff, facilities, or awards.

Output

Projects, experiments, lab reports, field results, and public writing.

What the Lab actually does

  • AI agents and tool-using systems
  • Local and personal assistant research (MR BIG)
  • Experimental research desks and agent workflows (Buzz Desk)
  • Practical local AI and computing infrastructure (Home AI Lab)
  • Reliability, recovery, and deterministic failure testing (Agent Rescue / WebMCP)
  • Independent evaluation of coding agents, models, and deployment paths

Big on the surface. Real underneath.

Lab operating principle

The Lab does not present conceptual imagery as owned facilities or equipment. Atmosphere on this site is design. Evidence lives in project records, reports, and results.

How the Lab is structured

Public destinations include the website, Substack, Medium, and GitHub. YouTube, LinkedIn, X, and Bluesky carry appearances and notes. MonkeyCode Reliability Lab exists as a standalone, unlisted laboratory property and is not absorbed into this site.
